The Holy Ghost is also called the Comforter (see John 14:26). Heavenly Father gives the Holy Ghost to those who obey Him. Today you are making a baptismal covenant with Heavenly Father. This means that we can go and live with our Heavenly Father in Heaven. That means that we can ask for forgiveness and our sins can be forgiven. The Saviour was baptised so that everyone could receive a remission of their sins. You are following in the footsteps of the Saviour, who stood in the River Jordan 2000 years ago and was baptised by his cousin John the Baptist infront of witnesses and friends and family members.
